Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa OFR. Founder/Chairman, SAM OHUABUNWA FOUNDATION FOR ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT (SOFEE), President, NIGERIA-AMERICA CHAMBER of COMMERCE (NACC). Sam Ohuabunwa has over 33 years of cognate corporate and organizational leadership experience, 18 years of which were at CEO level.

He became Chairman/CEO of Pfizer West Africa in 1993 and led the first major Management Buyout (MBO) of a Multinational in Corporate Nigeria, when Pfizer Inc. divested its 60% shareholding in the Nigerian subsidiary in 1997, transforming the resultant company, Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc into a medium-sized R & D-based Pharmaceutical company. He led the company through turbulent times in the Nigerian economy, employing strategic financing options which included All Assets Secured Debenture, Foreign Bond Issues and Equity Infusions. By the time he retired in August 2011, he had transformed the company which depended on licensed and franchised products (with Royalty obligations) into an independent company with its own portfolio of indigenously developed products and brands.

Sam is an Entrepreneur who practices and preaches Entrepreneurship. He has been involved in the founding of not less than twenty thriving businesses spanning the pharmaceutical, medical, manufacturing, agriculture, food, logistics, telecommunications, construction, oil services, financial services and consulting services. He serves on the Boards of many companies. He uses the auspices of the Sam Ohuabunwa Foundation for Economic Empowerment (SOFEE) to teach entrepreneurship and mentor young entrepreneurs.

During the 18 years, Sam was the CEO of Pfizer/Neimeth, he admirably combined his executive functions with the leadership of many private sector organizations and other non-governmental organizations. He was at different times Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Ikeja Branch, President, Ikeja Business Club, President, Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA), Chairman, Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers Group of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (PMGMAN), President, West African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (WAPMA) and the Chairman, Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG). In each of these positions, Sam showed exceptional leadership and adopted excellent corporate practices that enabled him complete full terms in all the positions, leaving behind a string of successes.

In addition to his several and long years of experience in the Private Sector, Sam has had ample exposure to the workings of the Public Sector Organizations in Nigeria. He had served either as Chairman or Governing Board member of several institutions such a the Nigerian Institute for Economic and Social Research (NISER), the Manpower Board, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Abia State Polytechnic and Abia State University Teaching Hospital.

Sam received an honours degree in Pharmacy from the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and obtained additional Executive Management training from the Columbia University in the USA and the Lagos Business School in Nigeria. He has obtained Fellowships of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (FPSN), the West African Post Graduate College of Pharmacists (FPC PHARM), the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), the Nigerian Institute of Quality Assurance (FIQAN) and the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) amongst others.

Mazi Sam I. Ohuabunwa received some political exposure when he served in the National Political Reform Conference in 2005, the Presidential Steering Committee on Global Economic Crisis in 2009 and the Presidential Advisory Council in 2010/2011 and remains active as a Social Commentator, an Author and a respected voice in Nigeria, using every opportunity he finds to serve God, the Nation, his State, his Community and Mankind. He has been honoured twice by the Nation – Member of the Order of Niger (MON) in 2001 and Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) in 2011.

Sam has a strong passion to play a more active role in seeing Nigeria and its institutions transform from the 3rd World status to the 1st World.

BOARD MEMBER

Adeyinka Hassan a Chartered Secretary, Corporate Governance Consultant, Lawyer and Entrepreneur. He is a 1994 graduate of Laws from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, he was called to the Nigerian Bar in March 1995. He holds Master degrees in Laws, Business Administration, Corporate Governance (with a distinction) specializing in Financial Services Regulations and Certificate in Entrepreneurship. He is an Alumnus of the London South Bank University and The London School of Management.

He started his career in 1995 with Pipelines & Petroleum Products Marketing Company Limited. (A subsidiary of NNPC) He joined Industrial and General Insurance Co Ltd. In 1996, in pursuance of private practice experience, he worked with the Law Firm of Osinaike & Associates and later with Akinwunmi & Busari a front line Commercial Practice in Lagos, where he garnered extensive commercial litigation experience before proceeding for a Master degree in Laws, upon completion of the Master degree, he worked with Intercontinental Bank Plc., where he served variously as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of Global Bank Plc (pre Bank merger), Regional Legal Adviser and Relationship Manager, Retail & Personal Banking. He also worked with Equitorial Trust Bank limited and later joined First City Monument Bank Plc where he became the Zonal Manager, Retail Banking overseeing the Bank’s business activities in Ogun State. Until his voluntary disengagement from the Bank to pursue his passion, he was the Head, Business Banking Support of the Bank.

Hassan is involved in negotiating complex commercial transactions and structured financing, including litigation arising therefrom. He has handled various Advisory Services spanning Capital Markets, Financial Advisory, Corporate Governance, Investments Advisory and Corporate Restructuring. He has made remarkable contributions to the study of Regulations both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom with his various research works which have been acknowledged on the Social Science Research Network. He has attended various Conferences and Seminars in Europe, Middle East, The United States and in Nigeria and has been a regular Speaker at these Conferences.

He belongs to various professional bodies including the International Bar Association, the Nigerian Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, Capital Market Solicitors Association, the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and the Institute of Directors of Nigeria.

He is Fellow and Council member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, he was admitted into the Council of the Institute in 2010 and served as the Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the Institute from 2012 to 2014.

He is the Founder and Principal Partner of H. Michael & Co, a young and upcoming Law Practice in Victoria Island, Lagos. He consults in Corporate Governance for both private and public quoted companies as well as being Director and Secretary to Company Boards.

He is married with children.

For over 15 years, I have developed and implemented top-quartile business/people management and HR strategies, policies and processes in the oil and gas, financial services, manufacturing and not-for-profit sectors. My work experience in research, consulting and my industry experience has given me ample opportunity to successfully manage change and business improvement efforts whilst ensuring seamless transition from strategy to execution and from projects to operations. In adition to being focused on execution, I always pay attention to integrating leadership, people, process, systems and technology capabilities which would enable the business deliver and sustain top-quartile performance.

Aside my core HR skills, I have strong competences in senior leadership/talent sourcing and development, coaching and mentoring, graduates development programme design/implementation, LEAN six sigma implementation, HAY job evaluation and ERP implementation, amongst others.

Princess (Mrs.) Elemanya Ebilah was born into the family of Late Ezeogo (Elder) Okoro Onuma the Eze Edda 22nd and Late (Elder) Ugoeze Grace Okoro Onuma (Nee Nkuma-Oji) in Nguzu-Edda, Afikpo South LGA in Ebonyi State in November, 1948. She went to Government Primary Schools in Bonny and Ajalli, attended Secondary School at the Anglican Girls Grammar School in Enugu and studied Accounting at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus where she graduated with 2nd Class Honours Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in 1978. Thereafter she studied for her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the same University in 2000.

CAREER
She started her career as a Youth Corp Member under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) IN THE Accounts Department of Cadbury Nigeria Plc in 1978/79 and in February 1980 she was employed as an Accountant 2 in the Nigerian Airports Authority (NAA) now Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) from where her services were transferred as Assistant General Manager (AGM) to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in January 2000 as pioneer staff of the newly established Parastatal of the Aviation Ministry. She set up the accounting system ensured compliance in all areas of financial deliverables to the satisfaction of over sighting Institutions. .

She progressed from Grade Level 8, as Accountant II (FAAN), to Consolidated Grade Level as Director of Finance and Accounts, a position she retired from in 2008. Thereafter she was re-appointed for a two-year contract in February 2009 as the Director of Finance and Administration in the same organization and formally retired in February 2011 (NCAA).

Since that time till now she has engaged in manpower development and training programme for both public and private sectors.

Since retirement, she has been consulting in areas of Manpower Development, Training/Capacity Building and Management Consultancy under her registered outfit: INTERNATIONAL GAZEILLE LIMITED (IGL). IGL is accredited by Centre for Management Development (CMD).

She attended many managerial seminars and professional trainings, workshops and conferences both locally and overseas and is well exposed.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
During her working years, Mrs. Ebilah attained professionalism in the memberships of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and Chattered Institute of Taxation, Nigeria (CITN), and has attained the status of Fellow in both professional bodies. She is on the Council of CITN for eight (8) years running. She has also attained the status of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) of the Association of Certifies Fraud Examiners (ACFE), an International Organisation of Fraud Fighters based in Texas, in the United States of America. She is a fellow of the African Business School (ABS) and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Chattered (MNIMC).

EXPERIENCE
In all her 32 years in the Aviation industry, she showed high sense of responsibility, integrity, honesty and capability. She ensured that her Agency complied with all Fiscal Responsibility requirements as laid down by Statute. While in service, she promoted good governance and maintained Industrial balance between Labour Unions and the Management. She served as Alternate Member of the Governing Board of Internal Financial Facilitation for Aviation Safety (IFFAS), a body within the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), charged with providing Financial Aids on Aviation Projects to less privileged Countries in the World.

Some of the assignments and ad-hoc duties performed include but not limited to the following:

Princess (Mrs.) Elemanya Ebilah is presently engaged in Training, Human Capital Development, Consultancy in Finance and Management Services and General Procurement which she promotes through her registered companies: International Gazeille Limited and Elemanya & Co.

She is matured, retired but not tired and aspires to serve in any manner that will promote accountability and ensure good governance.

She is married and blessed with three children.
