Mr. Omozaphue Akalumhe is a Director and Board Member at AOS Orwell Oilfield Services Limited and PriVida Group, amongst other businesses. After about 30 years’ experience working in not-for-profit, consulting and energy, Omozaphue co-founded PriVida in 2013 to kick-start a renewable energy revolution in Africa. Omozaphue is also a Director of PriVida Energy, an E & P business currently prospecting for opportunities in Cameroon and Nigeria.
Omozaphue’s previous experience include Board/Executive level roles in Pan Ocean, Shell Upstream International, Accenture and Arthur Andersen. He was also Research Associate, Research Fellow and Research Assistant at various times at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) from 1986 to 1997.
At Shell, Omozaphue was a key member of the transformation and business improvement team and was actively involved in driving change in Shell’s operating model in Africa. Also, Omozaphue was actively involved in growth programme of both Pan Ocean, including the eventual acquisition of new acreages to the company’s portfolio. Omozaphue’s key contributions have been in the commercial, economics and talent/people management.

For close to 20 years, he has built a reputation for executing company-wide policies and procedures that positively impact performance, effectiveness and efficiency. Omozaphue Akalumhe studied at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees, specializing in resource management and marketing economics. He is also a graduate of Cranfield University, United Kingdom where he obtained an M.Sc degree from the School of Management.
Over the years, he won many awards including: Four Special Recognition Awards for individual performance and contribution in Shell and scholarships from the Rockefeller Foundation and Belgian Agency for Development and Cooperation (BADC).
In 2013, under Omozaphue’s leadership, talent/people management in Pan Ocean Oil Corporation was ranked number 2 (only behind Shell) by the CIPM in recognition of the adoption of Global/Industry best practices. Similarly, Omozaphue’s relationship building skills have received several recognitions and awards from both PENGASSAN and NUPENG in Nigeria. .
Omozaphue has participated in various leadership and technical development programs in South Africa, the United Kingdom (UK), United States of America and Switzerland. He is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) of the United Kingdom and a Chartered Member of CIPD London. .
